GANGTOK – DARJEELING – YUMTHANG – MIRIK

GANGTOK capital of Sikkim, is built along a ridge to one side of the River Ranipool and facing towards the Kanchenjunga range. The participants would visit the architectural marvels in the form of monasteries, Orchid Sanctuary with more than 200 beautiful orchids and Tsongo Lake at the height of 12200 feet.

Center of India’s most celebrated tea growing district, DARJEELING has possibly the best views of any Indian hill station. Surrounding by the mighty Himalayan ranges like Kanchenjunga, Kabru and Pandim, Darjeeling lives up to the name that means ‘place of the thunderbolt’.

At the height of about 5800 feet, MIRIK welcomes its guests with a cool and comfortable climate. The Sumedu Lake, Tea Gardens, Mirik Monastery and Pashupati Market together make this place a tourist’s delight.

Situated at an altitude of 11800 feet with a close proximity of Tibet, YUMTHANG is a unique place where the tree line ends with blooming rhododendrons and primulas. Scattered hot springs in the valley provide an unexpected opportunity to feel the warmth of the water even in a freezing temperature.

Accommodation: will be provided in decent Hotels.

Registration: Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance of Rs.2500/- to confirm your booking. The balance payment should reach our office at least 15 days before the commencement of the journey. Reservation is done on first come first served basis.

Cheques or DD should be in favour of Sun Adventures. payable at Bhavnagar only.

Dates indicated are inclusive of travelling. Participants would leave Ahmedabad on the first day and reach back on the last day.

Our Fee is inclusive of accommodation, travelling from Ahmedabad (by different modes), food, service charges and service tax. All the charges are per person.

Essential Medical Facilities in the form of first aid would be available at the campsite/hotel. All emergencies would be treated by the nearest available doctor/medical facility.

Please Note that the participants will have to look after their luggage throughout the journey as well as during the programme. The organizers will not be responsible for loss, theft or any damage to the participants’ luggage.

Please Submit a Photocopy of the Photo ID proof at the time of registration and the same original Photo ID proof, seven days before the departure. The participants may have to pay fine, wherever applicable in the absence of Photo ID.

Disclaimer: While all care will be taken for safety of the participants, Sun Adventures, or any individual connected to it would not be held responsible for any accident or any unforeseen incident. Participants will have to look after their luggage throughout the journey as well as during the camp/tour. The organizers will not be responsible for loss, theft or any damage. Doctor’s certificate would be required if the participant is undergoing any medical treatment, is over-weight or above 60 years.
Sun Adventures Reserves the unconditional right to refuse a booking/terminate a participant during the camp/eco-tour in event of unreasonable behavior at any time.

Itinerary

Day 1

Depart from Ahmedabad by train in the evening.

Day 2

Arrive Delhi and shift to hotel Pal Regency or similar. Depart for New Jalpaiguri in the evening.

Day 3

In train

Day 4

Arrive New Jalpaiguri in the morning at 04:30. Depart for Gangtok after breakfast. Shift to Hotel. Leisure/Shopping in the evening night stay at Gangtok.

Day 5

Full day visit to Tsangu Lake located at 12,210 ft., 50 km. from Gangtok. Return to the hotel in the evening night stay at Gangtok.

Day 6

Sightseeing at Orchid Garden, Rumtek Monastery, Buddhist Gompa, Museum of Tibetology, Gangtok view, Handicraft Museum night stay at Gangtok.

Day 7

Depart for North Sikkim – Yumthang, the Valley of Flowers. Situated at an altitude of 11,800 ft (3,564 m) in close proximity to Tibet, Yumthang is a unique place where the tree line ends. The journey will be of about 150 km. through beautiful views of mountains and waterfalls. Night stay at Lachung.

Day 8

Visit to Rhododendron Sanctuary at Yumthang in the morning and depart for Gangtok after lunch. Night stay at Gangtok.

Day 9

After breakfast, depart for Mirik. Arrive Mirik at 12:00 noon. Check in at Hotel. After lunch, sight seeing in and around Mirik covering tea garden and factory; view of Mirik from Swiss Cottage and free time at Mirik Lake in the evening. Night stay at Mirik.

Day 10

Full day Sightseeing in Darjeeling covering Mountaineering institute, Zoological park, Ghoom Monestry, Tenzing rock and shopping night stay at Mirik.

Day 11

Depart for New Jalpaiguri after early lunch for Ahmedabad by train.

Day 12

In train.

Day 13

Arrive Ahmedabad in the evening.
